Motherhood, Encouragement, and Becoming Me: A Video Tribute to Mom

Becoming Me

Matthew West | All In | Becoming Me | A Tribute to Mothers

Raising our babies is hard work.

Making the right decisions weighs heavily no matter the season. Whether we are figuring out how to get them into a healthy sleeping pattern when they’d rather stay up all night and sleep all day, or we are handing over the car keys and watching them drive away for the first time.

It’s a crazy kind of love, isn’t it? A kind that runs us up mountains of crazy highs and then tumbles us down into crazy lows. It’s a kind of love that makes us spin circles, stay up all night, and do things we said we’d never do.

At every corner and every season of parenting, we have times that feel lost. We wonder if all the hours, all the tears, and the moments have made a difference.

Then we catch a glimpse. A glimpse of all the good God is pouring forth into our children.

And we turn to Him in gratitude.

Gratitude for giving us strength when we had none left.

For filling our gaps when we couldn’t keep up.

For being our wisdom, our guide, and our hope.

And as we go back to the safest, most productive place we know – on our knees we praise God for the lives He has given us to help mold. We praise Him for the prayers both answered and unanswered because we know He’s there, He knows best, and has our babies in the palm of His hand.

I was offered the opportunity to help launch Matthew West’s newest song, Becoming Me. When his team contacted me, I was beyond honored! You see, years ago his storytelling way of making beautiful music, reached deeply into my heart.

It was back when my babies were just that … babies. And my daughter was halfway around the world waiting for God to give her a forever family. Music was a comfort in those days of waiting and being the word-girl I am, Matthew’s music quickly became tangible hope.

He has a way of putting words to universal emotions. From the day-to-day life moments, to the critical human rights issues we face in our generation, he finds a way to reach our hearts with awareness all the while pointing to hope.

Today my babies are teenagers and Selah sleeps safely in her princess room each night. But I still listen to the songs from Matthew West.

Even though the teenagers often leave me wondering which end is up and Selah still battles the demons of her past, I catch the glimpses and know what I’m doing matters. I see they are catching some of it and I know God is in the midst of our stories.

Becoming Me, Matthew West’s latest release, is a gift of encouragement for Moms everywhere. It reminds us that what we are doing matters.

Happy Mother’s Day to each of you! Enjoy and be blessed  ♥
