Make Your Year Different by Falling In Love With God’s Word Today
I don’t know about you, but after the year that was 2020, I’m SO ready to start this year fresh! I imagine we both have emotionally wrestled with the events, losses, and general turmoil in our world in our attempts to make sense of it all. Most likely we want to hit the refresh button … and live with more peace, joy, and love.
The Hope of God’s Word
As I reflect on 2020, though, I am filled with hope because woven throughout every remnant, I see God’s promise to never leave us.
Friend, He hasn’t left us. He is here and making a way.
There are no promises of trial-free living. Yet, there is a promise reiterated again and again throughout God’s Word that tells us He will fight for us AS we go through the fire.
I have chosen you, named you as My own. When you face stormy seas I will be there with you with endurance and calm; you will not be engulfed in raging rivers. If it seems like you’re walking through fire with flames licking at your limbs, keep going; you won’t be burned. Because I, the Eternal One, am your God. God’s Word is our manual, our encouragement, and our tool to living out the fullness of His love in this crazy, complicated, yet beautiful chaos we call life.
To live as though we know, we must be able to apply God’s Word. And knowing God’s Word enough to apply God’s Word means falling in love with It!
That’s why I’m committing to falling in love with God’s Word this year even more than any year before. One of the ways I’m doing that this year, is by looking for easy ways to make my faith more of a priority in my life this year.
